The Overbrook Environmental Education Center (OEEC) is a community based center dedicated to Environmental Education, Conservation, Public Health and Personal Enrichment. The mission of the OEEC is to remove barriers from the public’s full appreciation of our region’s technological and environmental resources. This center promotes public education, and participation in sustainable technological and environmental projects.
JASTECH Development Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improved human and environmental health. JASTECH is an acronym from Juveniles Active in Science & Technology and established the Overbrook Environmental Education Center’s under the Clean Water Act. JASTECH also provides hands-on training in sustainability, conservation, environmental justice and storm water best management practices (BMPs) in a highly urbanized area.
The Community Design Collaborative (Collaborative) provides pro bono preliminary design services to nonprofit organizations in greater Philadelphia, creates engaging volunteer opportunities for design professionals, and raises awareness about the importance of design in revitalizing communities.
The Collaborative helps nonprofits succeed in the challenging arena of community and economic development. Their skilled volunteers work side by side with communities to put their visions down on paper and advance to the next stage: gaining support, raising funds, and building projects.
The Collaborative provided preliminary design services JASTECH Development Services, Inc. by matching architects, landscape architects, urban planners, preservationists, engineers, cost estimators, and other volunteer design professionals to design preliminary plans for the Farmacy project.
